This policy explains how WeCare Club Global collects, uses, protects, and retains information provided through this website.
Privacy Policy
How WeCare Club Global collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information across our website and learning platform.
1. Who we are and scope
WeCare Club Global operates this website, member portal, courses, digital library, programmes, events, and related community services. For information processed through these services, WeCare Club Global is the data controller. This policy applies when you browse the website, create an account, enrol in a course, obtain a book or resource, make a payment, submit a review, join a mailing list, contact us, or participate in an online programme.
It does not govern an independent third-party website reached through a link from our platform.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, password hash, verification status, profile image, and account preferences.
- Programme and learning information: enrolments, course progress, library access, reviews, and participation records.
- Purchase information: order, item, amount, currency, payment status, references, and the name, email, or phone number supplied at checkout. Card and bank credentials entered into Flutterwave are handled by Flutterwave, not stored by us.
- Communications: contact messages, membership enquiries, newsletter subscriptions, and support correspondence.
- Technical information: session identifiers and basic request or security logs produced when you use the platform.
We collect information directly from you, automatically through essential platform operation, or from a payment provider confirming a transaction.
3. How and why we use information
We process information only where there is an appropriate lawful basis, including performance of a contract, your consent, compliance with a legal obligation, and our legitimate interests in operating a safe and useful platform.
- Create, verify, secure, and support your account.
- Deliver courses, books, programme access, certificates or progress features.
- Process and verify purchases, maintain transaction records, and prevent fraud.
- Answer enquiries and administer memberships, volunteering, partnerships, or events.
- Send newsletters or programme updates where you have requested them; you may opt out at any time.
- Moderate reviews, diagnose faults, protect users, and improve platform performance.
- Meet accounting, safeguarding, regulatory, or other legal responsibilities.
We do not use solely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
4. When we share information
We disclose only what is reasonably necessary to authorised staff and service providers supporting hosting, email delivery, technical operations, professional advice, and payment processing. Flutterwave receives checkout information when that payment option is used. Manual bank transfers are reviewed by authorised administrators. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a properly managed organisational restructuring.
Some providers may process information outside Nigeria. Where this occurs, we will use a lawful transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards required by applicable data-protection law. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
5. Retention and security
We retain information only for as long as necessary for the purpose collected, including providing an active account, resolving disputes, keeping required financial records, safeguarding participants, and meeting legal obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. When information is no longer required, we delete it, anonymise it, or securely restrict its use.
We use measures appropriate to the nature of the information, including password hashing, access controls, session expiry, transaction verification, and restricted administration tools. No online system is completely secure, so please use a strong unique password and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised account access.
6. Your privacy rights
Subject to the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and applicable limitations, you may ask to:
- receive information about our processing and access your personal data;
- correct incomplete or inaccurate data;
- delete data or restrict its processing;
- object to certain processing;
- receive portable data where applicable;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier lawful processing; and
- raise a concern and receive a response.
We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Some records may be retained where the law or a compelling legitimate ground requires it.
7. Children and young people
Our mission includes children and teenagers. A child should use account, programme, payment, or submission features only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian where required. Parents and guardians may contact us about a child’s information. We aim to collect only information necessary for participation and safeguarding and do not knowingly use children’s information for behavioural advertising.
8. Cookies and external links
The platform uses essential session cookies to keep users signed in, protect forms, and support security. If optional analytics or marketing cookies are introduced, we will provide appropriate notice and choices before using them where consent is required. External websites and embedded services have their own privacy practices, which you should review.
9. Contact, complaints, and changes
For access, correction, deletion, consent withdrawal, or another privacy request, email Founder@wecareclubglbl.org or use our contact page. Please write “Privacy Request” in the subject line.
If your concern is not resolved, you may lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission through its official channels. We may revise this policy as the platform or legal requirements change. Material updates will be posted here with a revised date.
